Working Principle and Maintenance of Cyclone Dust Collector

Date: Ju 14,2013

111Working principle of cyclone dust collector

Cyclone dust collector is used to separate dust from airflow according to the different centrifugal forces of dust and air generated by monocular cyclone airflow. The dust-laden air enters cylinder via intake-tube at the speed of 12 ~ 25m/s along the tangential direction and takes spiral movement downwardly between outer cylinder and central exhaust pipe, generating centrifugal force during the rotation. Eventually, it will collide with inner wall of the outer cylinder and rotates downwardly along the inner wall. It is collected in the ash discharging port located at the bottom and discharged out from the machine.

Maintenance of cyclone dust collector

1. Stabilize operating parameters of dust catcher

The operating parameters of cyclone dust catcher include the following points:

As for the cyclone dust collector is with certain size, the increase of inlet air velocity will not only improve air processing capacity, but also can effectively improve the separation efficiency.

As the gas temperature of dust catcher increases, viscosity becomes large, which will enlarge the centripetal force of dust particles and decrease separation efficiency of dust catcher.

When the concentration is high, the large dust particles have obvious carrying effect of small particles and separation efficiency is increased.

2. Prevent air leakage

Once dust leakage of cyclone dust collector occurs, it will seriously affect the dust removal effect. It is estimated that the dust collection efficiency would drop 5% if air leakage of upper cone or ash-discharging valve is 1% ; if the air leakage reaches 5%, the dust removal efficiency will drop 30%. Air leakage of the cyclone dust collector mainly occurs at three parts: connection flange point of exist and entrance, host and the ash discharging device.

3. Prevent the wear and tear of key parts

The factors that affect the wear of key parts include load, air velocity, dust particles. In addition, the worn parts of dust catcher include housing body, cone and dust discharge mouth.

4. Avoid dust clogging and dust stratification

The blockage of intake and exhaust ports are mostly caused by improper design-slightly rough right angle or bevel in the intake and exhaust ports of dust catcher will result in the adhesion and stratification of dust until they are blocked.
